Instal-Life - Fresh Start is an initiative dedicated to ministering hope and restoration to the thousands of men and women incarcerated throughout Australia. Using Ku band satellite technology, Instal-Life will make GOD TV available to eligible prisons and correctional facilities for FREE.

OUR VISION IS THAT THROUGH THE CONCRETE AND RAZOR WIRE, MESSAGES OF GOD’S HOPE AND RESTORATION WILL ENCOURAGE AUSTRALIAN INMATES TO MAKE A ‘FRESHSTART’. OUR HOPE IS THAT THROUGH 24 HOUR ACCESS TO POSITIVE, LIFE-AFFIRMING TELEVISION PROGRAMS, INMATES WILL MAKE BETTER CHOICES BOTH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE PRISON WALLS.

Instal-life is working locally with Prison Chaplains and Correctional Centres to encourage the uptake of the FreshStart program. We are motivated by the prospect that through our service, a greater variety of faith-based programming will be available in all prisons throughout Australia.

Faith-based content on Free-to-air television remains fairly limited, and is generally broadcast between 2.30 – 4.00am. GOD TV provides a variety of programs, and will be available as an additional channel, and can be viewed by all inmates in privacy of each room/unit. This will allow inmates to view faith-based content without fear of intimidation or ridicule.

In Australia, over the past 10 years, the prisoner population has increased by nearly 50%. This increase has exceeded the 15% growth in the Australian adult population. There were 4,818 Indigenous prisoners in Australia (20% of the prisoner population) at 30 June 2003.

There are also many "Juvenile detention centre’s" across Australia. We feel that this may be a good option to help adolescents meet Jesus. This is an exciting avenue for us; we pray that God will open up these doors and that lives will be changed and people blessed.
